The Final Stretch

Thanksgiving is almost here and COVID-19 never left! This has by far been the weirdest year of my life. Having to get tested for a virus before being able to see my family is something I never thought I would have to do. On the bright side, Thanksgiving means we are close to finals, and then finals means it is time for Winter break! Without being able to travel anywhere, I have started a list of projects and ideas of things to do on the long 5-week break.

As I promised you in my last post, I was able to finish the infographic on Adobe Illustrator and a picture of it is below!

The next and final project of the semester was presented to me last week. This project will consist of using two applications from the following options: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator. The requirements for this final project include picking a restaurant located in Norman, Oklahoma and recreating a logo, a social media post, a menu and a branded collateral. The restaurant in Norman I chose for this project, is Blackbird Gastropub located on Campus Corner .

To start this project, I began by starting a recreating of a logo for Blackbird. I am pleased with the overall theme the restaurant has chosen and so I am looking for ways to “spice it up.” Below is the previous restaurant logo that Blackbird already has.

Like I said before, I enjoy the theme Blackbird has chosen and so with the rough draft of my logo recreation, I tried to stick with the patterns they created for themself so far. Below is a picture of the logo I have created. It is not complete yet but has an overall pattern of what I would like to create.

Of course it will not have a large white background, but I do hope to continue working on this logo to perfect it. As always, come back for more updates on my projects and what is happening in my life!
