Reflection
As I have reached the end of my Fall 2020 semester at the University of Oklahoma, I would like to share my reflecting thoughts on my journey with Adobe. This semester has been difficult for everyone because of the COVID-19 and having to adjust to an online schedule. But because of this, I have been able to spend more time working on my Adobe skills because I purchased the applications on my personal laptop instead of having to only work during class times on the school’s computers. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to return to campus for this semester, I know in a trying time like this, many students are not able to complete school, even online.
At the beginning of this semester, my work with Photoshop was not the best. I was a true beginner. As the semester progressed I slowly got better and better. While I still have a long way to go with perfecting my skills in Adobe, I am very happy with the amount of progress I made and the amount of skills I learned in the last few months. The project below was my first time trying to create something on Adobe Photoshop without the help of a tutorial. I can honestly say that it is not my best piece of work and I wish I had put more time into it.
When it comes to a turning point of understanding how these applications work exactly, I think this point for me was when we learned how to use the Adobe Illustrator application. This application was fun for me because it has so much potential entailed in it. I also enjoyed this project because I was able to combine the different Adobe applications to create a finished product. Below is a picture of what I think my “turning point project” was.
I grew this semester more than I thought I would. Because of the pandemic, there have been more challenges as I enter my upper level classes than I thought there would be. I grew as a person and as a student having to get through these trying times. Going online for school was not the easiest for me but I am pleased with the amount of hard work I did this semester to get me the results I wanted and better. As a public relations practitioner, I grew immensely as well. I took classes this semester that I was engaged in and happy to learn about because they were geared towards my future career as a public relations professional. The public relations classes I took this semester included PR Publications, PR Writing, and PR Management. The workload I had this semester was a lot and pretty difficult but I made it through!
That’s it for this semester! Check back in next semester for more of my adventures toward become a real public relations professional!
